 ALCC offers courses in Master Writing as well as Practical Conversation, Grammar, Reading and Pronunciation and a TOEFL preparation course. Short-term (2-8 weeks) courses are available.  Adventures Abroad allows you to find a study-abroad program by searching by language, country or program/field of study. Using the "program finder" form sends a request for further information (via e-mail) to schools meeting the criteria specified. "Travel Planner" features tips on traveling (from business hours to weather) and a selection of articles covers internships and working, discounts, new programs and special events. Updated monthly.

National Registration Center for Study Abroad
 This is a selection of immersive foreign-language programs abroad (most offer lodging with local families), searchable by language or country. Online registration is available, as well as a student comment section.

Oxford Study Abroad Programs
 This site contains information on the Oxford Study Abroad Programs, including the Oxbridge tutorial system, housing, dates and fees. Applicants also have the option of studying in Cambridge or London instead of Oxford. Online application is available.

Peterson’s
 Peterson’s lists study abroad programs at accredited institutions.

San Francisco State University’s American Language Institute
 This is a course in English for foreign students, intended mainly to prepare them for university study or business in the US. There are no beginning-level courses: some previous study of English is required. The program is limited to about 150 students (12-20 per class) per session. A downloadable application form is available.

St. Giles School—San Francisco
 St. Giles offers courses in Intensive English, Business English and Teacher Training (Cambridge RSA CETA) as well as examination preparation (TOEFL). Online enrollment is available, as well as links to St. Giles campuses in Switzerland and the U.K.
