Avoir is irregular. Here are its Present tense forms:

AVOIR —"to have"
 

j’ai*
tu as
il, elle a
nous avons
vous avez
ils, elles ont

As a reminder, the tu form is used among friends and family. Always let your French host take the initiative in using tu.

*When je comes in front of a vowel, it changes to j'.

EXAMPLES
 

Nous avons le temps de prendre un café. We have time for (to take) a cup of coffee.
Je n'ai pas ma clé. I don't have my key.
