Making Appointments To make an appointment in German, use the preposition um plus the clock time.
Expressing Dates Use the German prepositional contraction am (=on) in giving dates or weekdays.
Giving the Date in Correspondence At the head of a letter, give the date as follows:
You may put the place where the letter is being written, e.g. Waiblingen,
stands instead of naming the weekday:
Put a comma after the name of the day (or place) and a period after the ordinal numeral.
