There are several kinds of verbs that end in -ir, but that nevertheless have different conjugations. Here you will learn three of those verbs: partir, venir, and voir. PARTIR"to leave"
VENIR"to come"
VOIR"to see"
Partir means to leave, as in leaving from one place to go to another. Other common verbs that follow this pattern are sortir"to leave, go out, to come out of"; mentir"to lie, tell lies"; sentir"to feel." Venir means to come. Not only is it a high frequency verb, it also has many derivatives that are all conjugated in the same way: devenir"to become"; revenir"to come back"; se souvenir (de)"to remember"; convenir"to convene, to agree." Voir means "to see." Derivatives of the verb, such as revoir"to see again," as well as the verb croire"to believe" are conjugated the same way.
