Possessive Adjectives

Possessive adjectives are articles which signify ownership.
The possessive adjectives correspond to the personal pronouns as follows:
The possessive adjectives take the same endings as kein, and they affect attributive adjective endings the same way. The rules are reviewed below, using unser and mein: GENERAL RULE: All attributive adjectives take an automatic -e.
SPECIAL RULE 1: After ein, kein (or possessive equivalent), add -r for masculine nouns.
SPECIAL RULE 2: After ein, kein (or possessive equivalent), add -s for neuter nouns.
SPECIAL RULE 3:After das, add nothing else.* SPECIAL RULE 4: After -e, if the noun is singular,add nothing else.
SPECIAL RULE 5: After der, if the noun is masculine and singular, add nothing else.* SPECIAL RULE 6: After any other article ending, add -n.
*The forms das and der do not occur among the possessives. |
