In a previous section, you learned that avoir is an auxiliary for the Passé Composé. Être is an auxiliary for intransitive verbs (i.e., those which do not act on an object). In addition, être is the auxiliary used with reflexive verbs:
The Past Participle agrees in gender and number with the subject; remember that reflexive pronouns also agree with the subject. |
